Well! I have something perhaps unexpected to share with you. One of my favourite writers on Substack happens to be a sex worker in Amsterdam. And let me tell you, I have had an education reading her essays! She is a remarkable woman and many people, I suspect, would find her to be full of surprises. She is extremely intelligent, tough, funny, kind, outrageous, hard as nails and soft as a bunny. And she is a fantastic writer (with English as her third or fourth language!). i looked up where you stayed. that's the same area where a spent my time-- literally 1 canal out and 1 block north. loved it. i started at the bench in front of Cafe Tabac. that's where the bachelorette party adopted me. do you remember that story? surely i've told that one to you both.

I’m never disappointed after a day wandering in Amsterdam. But I haven’t been there in years, so have noted the Tony’s Super Store, fab chocolate and a fab company. It’s hot here but nothing like you all have been experiencing in Paris!
