#GiveBackStack + French visa news
Where your subscription $$$ goes and why it pays to hire a professional
Hello, my dearest paid subscribers!
Did you notice the nifty new logo? It replaces the sad DIY one I made on the fly with something more polished created by Brandon Weil, a REAL designer.
I’m also excited to share that A Good Vintage is now part of #GiveBackStack, a directory of substacks that donate part or all of their proceeds to charity. I’m donating a large portion of net proceeds from paid subscriptions to two animal welfare organizations I love and support.
One is the Arlington Animal Welfare League, which has been helping animals throughout Arlington for 75 years. They have personally helped me and Jason over the years whenever an injured bunny, bird, or squirrel has found its way into our yard. They have wonderful cat and dog adoption and foster programs, and we’ll probably end up there eventually to rescue another sweet dog or cat.
The other charity is the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary in High Falls, New York. Its mission is to rescue farmed animals like sheep, cows, and pigs. I’m currently sponsoring two rescue sheep, Walt and Waldo, who escaped from a slaughterhouse. Unfortunately, Walt recently had a medical emergency, which is heartbreaking, but I’m hoping he pulls through.
