I'm so glad you are here, visa in hand, and that all went smoothly. Your meet-up with Aurélie and the other Substacker reminds me very much of one I did many years back with two fellow dinosaur-era bloggers. Two of them lived in the USA and we all just happened to be in Paris at the same time. Those are precious connections. I'm still in touch with one of them every single day. (But sometimes we just share Wordles in both languages.)
Aren’t those connections the best? It’s really kismet. We had such a blast yesterday. It was hard to believe we had just met. We felt the same about Aurelie and Tim, as well as others we have met on our travels here.
Salut vous! I'm a Brit in La Haute Loire. Have lived in France for thirty years, firstly in Grenoble, le cœur des Alpes ... A big TO SEE. Le lac d'Annecy is a good visit, as is Yvoire next to Lake Geneva. A must now, when the town will be adorned with flowers. It's very beautiful here too, in a softer, greener way. We've had no rain for a while and I've been praying for some. It came yesterday and will hang around for a few days. I live in the countryside in a town that's very old looking with the river Loire at it's centre. I'm not rich, but I'm a good vegetarian cook and there's a spare room, if you want a night or two to see the sights. Not far from Le Puy-en-Velay, which is a well known pilgrim town with touristic and religious sights to see, all set on volcanic 'sucs'. People set off from Le Puy to walk the path if Saint Jacques - There are hotels if you're more interested in luxury! Bisous tous les deux et bon séjour !
Bonjour Sara! Thank you so much for all of the fantastic suggestions. We were in Annecy in 2019 and would like to go back at some point. Grenoble looks gorgeous—we need to add it to our list. Thank you also for the incredibly generous offer to for us to visit with you for a few nights. I don’t think we will be out your way this time around unfortunately.
Congratulations! We just spent two gorgeous days in Bordeaux (city) and loved it. Ate at two amazing vegan restaurants and are already thinking about when we return :) Seriously considering trying to set up an apartment swap in Barcelona so we could stay for a few months and have more time to explore! Enjoy 😊
Glad you are in France. But why do you need a visa for a 3 month stay?
Bienvenue 💕 I hope Bordeaux is part of your itinerary 😉
I hope we can make it there too!

Wonderful news! I am envious of your long stay visa! If you’re in the Carcassonne area in the next two months let me know!
