Bonjour friends!

Hi, I’m Sacha, a writer, GenXer, and Francophile. I started A Good Vintage in early 2023 to chronicle the journey my husband, Jason, and I are taking to make our dream of living in France (eventually) come true.

Along the way, it’s evolved and now includes personal essays, interviews, and snippets from our travels in France. I also occasionally write about the trials and tribulations of being a woman in mid-life, wellness, and coping with anxiety, which has been a lifelong struggle.

So, whether you’re a Francophile, a wannabe expat, a mid-life person in pursuit of more joy, or searching for what’s next, thanks for hanging out in my little corner of Substack.

More about me

I’m a writer, certified health coach, and entrepreneur. I’ve been building community since the early 2000s, when I founded an online art and culture magazine and community in Washington, D.C. Since then, I’ve organized women’s wellness gatherings, media roundtables, entrepreneurial groups, creative salons, fundraisers, and more. The common denominator is that I love bringing people together.

My articles have appeared in the Washington Post, AARP, Fodor’s, Slate, New York Magazine, Food Network Magazine, Cosmopolitan, USA Today, and many other magazines, websites, and newspapers.

Paid subscribers get access to French Faves, a frequently updated collection of travel and expat resources, shops, restaurants, and more that I’ve compiled over the past decade. They also get a free 30-minute “pick my brain” about France session via phone or Zoom.

This Substack is a GiveBackStack, which means that part of the proceeds are donated to two of my favorite animal welfare organizations: Woodstock Farm Sanctuary and the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. I’ll update all subscribers about how much has been donated 2-3x a year.
